This website serves as a home for scholarship about monuments in the Augusta metropolitan area. While it is launching primarily as a project stemming from a graduate student’s capstone work on Lost Cause monuments, it will expand.

As the project grows it will house scholarship from a variety of levels ranging from professional historians to students just beginning to engage critically with the past.

The website will present finished projects including essays and other writings from scholars and local stakeholders. It will also house three-dimensional renderings of monuments from the area, allowing viewers to explore the monuments without having to physically travel to them. Primary sources, like newspaper articles and dedications speeches will also be presented.
